I am writing to formally commend Jamie Thompson for the excellent service he delivered when handling the sale of our property.
Originally our property was listed with another agent who after 5 months had not presented us with a single reasonable offer and argued constantly with us to reduce the price. This put us under extreme stress because our wedding was fast approaching and we had lost rental income of around $6000 during the 5 months. We decided our first agent under-delivered and mislead us with their evaluation in the beginning. We decided to give Jamie Thompson from Harcourts a call because of recommendations from people I work with.
Just over 3 weeks ago my fiancé and I listed our property for sale with Jamie and he managed to sell it within 2 weeks for the price and conditions we wanted. We were thrilled with the way Jamie conducted himself during the sales process. His enthusiasm and the extra effort he put into selling our home made all the difference.
When Jamie first walked through the property he suggested that because it had been advertised for so long, we needed to “reinvent it” by having the home professionally styled. But we could not afford to do this. My fiancé went to the property to change a light globe during his lunch break the day after we enlisted Jamie only to discover that he had been working for hours dressing up our home with his own furniture, rugs, dining settings, picture frames and even assembled a bed upstairs to demonstrate how items fit in the rooms. He really exceeded our expectations by doing this and when the photographer produced the photos for the advertisement the property looked amazing. Jamie also planned for the photographer to take sunset shots with the lighting inside the house on so it looked completely different from how it had been marketed with the other agent. Jamie was certain he would achieve a result for us quickly and his personality and confidence made us feel at ease about this. Jamie was energetic, and had a really positive outlook for achieving what we wanted. The result from Jamie’s hard work clearly paid off because we were achieving twice as many “hits” on realestate.com as we had with the previous agent. Amazingly Jamie sold our property in such a short amount of time. If only we listed the property with him earlier.
What particularly impressed us about this level of service was that there were no additional financial rewards involved. I just believe Jamie really needs to be congratulated for what he has done for us.

After the furniture stylist had woven her magic, you worked for hours on a 40 degree day, with the photographer to create some stunning photos. We really didn’t recognise our unit in the photos. It all paid off, because we got a much higher selling price than we imagined and higher than price suggested by other agents.
Your continued enthusiasm and positivity were infectious and this inspired us to work hard on our make-over. You said that you would sell it in a week, and while we were cautious, your open inspections attracted >35 groups and it was under contract in 3 days! We have been recommending you to other friends in the area, in our age group (30’s) in case they wish to sell the future.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Jamie Thompson to sell your home.
Having formerly worked as a real estate agent for a number of years, I had a number of contacts in the industry who I thought I could rely on when the time came to sell our home in Plympton.
In late 2012, with my wife 7 months pregnant, we purchased a new home to cater to our expanding family, hence the day to sell our Plympton house had arrived.
I immediately engaged one of my contacts who was a very experienced agent (the principal of the agency) to sell our home.
However by late February 2013, we had scant interest in our property except for one offer at a price below what we were led to expect.
Apart from reducing our price, that agent had run out of ideas.
Needless to say I knew we needed a change.
I researched who was obtaining good sales results in the Plympton/Plympton Park areas and Jamie Thompson appeared to be the stand out.
I got Jamie around to see if he could sell our home at the price we were led to believe we could achieve or whether like the agent we had engaged Jamie thought we needed to reduce our asking price.
Jamie was confident that the price we had been asking was more than fair but considered the property needed to be presented and marketed differently to achieve it.
Being convinced by Jamie’s enthusiasm and confidence I decided to switch agents and give him a go.
Jamie proceeded to organise an interior decorator refurnish our home. Once that was done he completely altered the way the property was presented and described to the market (the write up and evening shots were very enticing).
Following the transformation in approach we had 3 people vying for the property after the first weekend of opens.
By the end of that week we signed a contract for nearly $40k more than the first agent indicated he could get.
The sale settled a month later and we could not have been happier with the result.

What thoroughly impressed me with Jamie was how quickly he was able to make things happen and the extent that he went to make sure that all step in the process were seamless. The honesty was also very refreshing, which restored my faith in real estate agents again after a negative experience when purchasing a property through another agency.
The marketing/sales campaign was outstanding. Jamie assisted me I making sure the presentation of the house for the photo shoot and at the opens appealed to the target audience. He even went the extra mile and assisted in obtaining furniture at short notice just to make sure everything was perfect, and perfect it was. The brochure, the website advertisement and leaflets were amazing and I have no doubt this was the main reason that 50 groups inspected the property in only two opens over a weekend. It came up that good that I was having doubts about selling the house, but had already purchased another house so had no choice. All the people who I showed the advertisement to on the website could not believe how well the property was presented (the photographer deserves credit for this as well.)
Offers were made immediately at the beginning of the week after the first opens on the weekend, one of which exceeded the upper end of the price bracket I was hoping to achieve. By the middle of the week a contract was signed and by the end of the week the cooling-off period expired. Talk about fast. Not only did I save money on advertising costs, but I was also able to save by avoiding the on-going costs of maintaining a vacant property. This result totally blew me away and surpassed all the hope I had for a quick sale at a great price.
I have no hesitation recommending Jamie to my friends, family and colleagues. I would be more than happy to discuss my experience with anyone.

I found him to be a very just and caring gentleman. The help he gave me during the sale of my house and after was very much appreciated, and whatever I say cannot show my gratitude.
In the event of my having two accidents I was overwhelmed at his concern for me. When I had the first accident I was taken to hospital for observation where I spent five hours before they sent me home. During that period of time he phoned me five times wanting to come and get me and take me home. He offered to take me home to his house for the night, which I declined. But the next morning he arrived at my house at 8 o’clock, took me to where I had my accident and promptly phoned the insurance company etc.
The second accident I spent a total of fifteen days in hospital and during that time he phoned me many times and also phoned my nephew.
The day I shifted house, I left gardening, pool and other equipment in the carport. The next day I was taken back to hospital for another five days. When I came home I found Richard had been to the house and put everything in the shed.
